EU: ENISA issues cybersecurity tips for teleworking
The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity ('ENISA') issued, on 24 March 2020, its tips for teleworking in times of COVID-19. In particular, ENISA outlined, among other things, that employers should make corporate business applications accessible only via encrypted communication channels and ensure that access to application portals are safeguarded using multi-factor authentication mechanisms, as well as ensuring that bring your own device ('BYOD') technologies are vetted from a security standpoint. Moreover, ENISA called for employers to establish policies for responding to security incidents and personal data breaches and for guaranteeing that the processing of staff data is carried out in compliance with the EU data protection legislation.
