International: BoJ and ECB release report on phase four of Project Stella

The Bank of Japan ('BoJ') and European Central Bank ('ECB') released, on 12 February 2020, its report ('the Report') on the results of the fourth phase of its project on distributed ledger technology ('Project Stella'). In particular, the Report highlights that phase four outlines the fundamental features for ensuring the confidentiality of transactions and assesses whether auditing could be done effectively in a confidential manner. In addition, the Report notes that the results of phase four can be used as a starting point for choosing privacy enhancing technologies and designing auditing processes for transactions.
