Mali: APDP issues guidance on privacy and Coronavirus

The Malian data protection authority ('APDP') issued, on 1 April 2020, guidance ('the Guidance') on the collection of personal data and data protection of individuals during the COVID-19 ('Coronavirus') health crisis. In particular, the APDP stated that sensitive data concening the health of individuals may only be collected by health authorities, and that it is formally prohibited to collect and publicly disclose personal data of infected persons and their contacts, notably on social media websites.
