Norway: Datatilsynet and Consumer Authority publish guide on digital services and consumer personal data

The Norwegian data protection authority ('Datatilsynet') announced, on 12 February 2020, that it had published, jointly with the Consumer Authority, a guide on digital services and consumer personal data ('the Guide'). In particular, the Guide aims at helping business operators in relation to practical situations where consumer protection and privacy issues overlap. Moreover, the Guide addresses, among other things, the marketing of digital services, the legal basis for the processing personal data, the use of data for targeted marketing purposes, and the protection of children and young consumers.
