Russia: Central Bank issues recommendations on cybersecurity during Coronavirus
The Central Bank of the Russian Federation ('the Central Bank') issued, on 23 March 2020, its Quarantine Cybersecurity Bank of Russia Recommendations ('the Recommendations') in the context of the spread of COVID-19 ('Coronavirus'). In particular, the Central Bank recommended that financial institutions, among other things, use technologies such as virtual private networks and multi-factor authentication and monitor and control the actions of users of remote mobile banking. In addition, the Recommendations note that specific organisational and technical measures to ensure information security in organising remote working are contained in the national standard for the security of banking and financial transactions.
