Austria: DSB draws positive conclusion of financial sector after audit
On January 18, 2024, the Austrian data protection authority (DSB) announced that as part of the annual focus audit, the DSB evaluated selected financial institutions in 2023 and drew positive conclusions after the audits. In particular, the DSB stated that the focus of the audits was on the use of personal data for advertising purposes and the position of data protection officers (DPOs). The DSB further specified that the sector that will be evaluated next and the priority procedure for 2024 will be announced.
