Belarus: NCPI announces public consultation on amendments to the constitution

The National Center for Legal Information ('NCPI') announced, on 18 January 2022, the public consultation of the amendments made to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus of 1994, including amendments and the enhancement of the right to private life. In particular, the amendments introduce new additions and amendments to several articles of the constitution, including Article 28 which previously guaranteed the protection from unlawful interference to life, and now clarifies it guarantees the protection from unlawful interference to private life. In addition, the amendments furter introduce under Article 28 the guarantee that state will create conditions for the protection of personal data and the security of the individual and the society in their use.
