Denmark: Digitization Minister signs cooperation agreement with Czech Republic on the European digital identity wallet

On April 11, 2024, the Digitization and Equality Ministry announced that the Digitization Minister, Marie Bjerre, had signed a cooperation agreement on the development of the European digital identity wallet with the Czech Republic's Deputy Prime Minister, Ivan Bartos. The Ministry stated that as part of the agreement, Denmark and the Czech Republic will cooperate and share experiences with their national projects and that the agreement will facilitate the exchange of experience between the Danish Digital Agency and the Czech Digitalization and Information Agency.

The European digital identity wallet

The European digital identity wallet is a method by which European citizens and businesses can prove their identity when using digital services. It would allow for easy access to services, protection of personal data, and compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and cybersecurity standards as security and privacy are the central focal point for the European digital identity wallet.
