Ghana: NCA launches consultation on draft Electronic Communications Equipment Regulations

The National Communications Authority ('NCA') announced, on 4 June 2019, that it had launched a public consultation on the draft Electronic Communications Equipment Regulations ('the Draft Regulations'). In particular, the Draft Regulations concern all communications equipment imported into or manufactured in Ghana, whether used for marketing or commercial purposes, and ensure compliance with applicable technical standards. In addition, the Draft Regulations aim, among other things, to protect the integrity of public networks, facilitate interoperability between communications networks and devices, and to ensure compliance with national and international standards.

Comments can be submitted, by stakeholders, until 17 July 2019, to [email protected].

You can read the press release here, the Draft Regulations here.
