Idaho: Bill for Insurance Data Security Act introduced in House of Representatives

House of Representative Bill ('HB') 147 for the Idaho Insurance Data Security Act was introduced, on 12 February 2021, to the Idaho House of Representatives. In particular, the bill was proposed to establish provisions regarding, among other things:

  • the information security program;
  • the implementation of safeguards to manage the threats identified;
  • include cybersecurity risck in the licensee's enterprise risk management process;
  • investigation of a cybersecurity event;
  • notice of a cybersecurity event;
  • topics on confidenciality and sharing of documents, materials and other information; and
  • penalties for violation.

The bill will take effect on 1 July 2021, with certain provisions for licensees applicable at a later date.
