International: ASEAN publishes study on blockchain technology in digital government services
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations ('ASEAN') Digital Ministers' Meeting ('ADGMIN') confirmed, on 28 January 2022, that it had finalised its study on the application of blockchain technology in the digital government sector, during its second meeting which took place on 27 and 28 January 2022. In particular, the ADGMIN noted that the study intends to act as a starting point for future work in creating distributed services between governments and businesses, as well as business-to-business digital services. Furthermore, the ADGMIN highlighted that the study also reflects the vision of the ASEAN Digital Masterplan 2025 and its commitment toward digital development in the region.
