International: ICDPPC announces new members and observers
The International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners ('ICDPPC') published, on 21 October 2019, its accreditation resolution ('the Accreditation Resolution'). In particular, the Accreditation Resolution highlights that the ICDPPC had accredited the Chilean Transparency Council, the Gabon data protection authority, the San Marino data protection authority, the São Tomé and Príncipe Data Protection Agency, and the Data Protection Commissioner of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development as new members of the same.
Furthermore, the Accreditation Resolution outlines that the Common Thread Network, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the Commissioner of Data Protection of Dubai International Financial Centre, the European Data Protection Board, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and the Office of the Ombudsman in the Cayman Islands, have been accredited as ICDPPC observers.
