International: RIPD releases Activity Report 2019
The Ibero-American Data Protection Network ('RIPD'), released, on 18 May 2020, its Activity Report 2019 ('the Report'). In particular, the Report highlights the work the RIPD has achieved in 2019, including the creation of a group for the permanent work of the data protection authorities, as well as key legislative developments from certain member states, such as Argentina, subscribing to Convention 108+ for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Processing of Personal Data. In addition, the Report notes that there are legislative initiatives which are yet to be approved in El Salvador, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic, among others. Moreover, the Report outlines the various events held by RIPD members and visits made by the RIPD Permanent Secretary.
