Russia: Government approves new consent forms for processing of personal data in unified biometric, identification, and authentication systems

On April 9, 2024, the Government of the Russian Federation published Order No. 856-r modifying the Order dated June 30, 2018 No. 1322-r regarding the consent forms to be used by entities placing and processing personal data in the unified biometric, identification, and authentication systems (the Order).

In particular, the Order approves two new consent form templates, in paper and electronic document format. The new templates contain additional space for information on minors and require more information on the expiration of consent.

The Order will come into effect on January 1, 2025.
