Singapore: Cybersecurity Amendment bill passed by Parliament

On May 7, 2024, Josephine Teo, the Singapore Minister for Communications and Information, announced, via LinkedIn, that the Cybersecurity (Amendment) Bill No. 15/2024 had been passed, on the same date, by the Parliament of Singapore.

In particular, the bill, in amending the Cybersecurity Act of 2018 (the Act), provides increased powers to the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA). The bill also expands the scope of the Act beyond the current critical information infrastructure (CII) it covers.

You can read the LinkedIn post here and the bill here.
