Victoria: OVIC publishes privacy officer toolkit
The Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner ('OVIC') published , on 24 June 2021, a privacy officer toolkit. In particular, the OVIC highlighted that the toolkit contains 16 sections dealing with topics that are relevant to the privacy officer's role including, handling internal enquires, privacy policies, privacy impact assessments, and data breaches. More specifically, the OVIC noted that each section summarises the essential elements of the particular topic and sign-posts the privacy officer to other OVIC resources such as templates and guidelines that is require to develop expertise in that topic. Furthermore, the OVIC clarifies that the toolkit is intended as a 'one stop shop' to side-step privacy officers searching different parts of the website to find key resources.
