Cambodia: MoI publishes Law on ASEAN Agreement on E-Commerce
The Ministry of Interior ('MoI') published, on 15 December, Royal Kram No. NS/RKM/1219/023 dated 5 December 2019, promulgating the Law on the ASEAN Agreement on E-Commerce ('the Law'). In particular, the ASEAN Agreement on E-Commerce ('the Agreement') notes that member states shall adopt or maintain measures to protect the personal information of e-commerce users, and that member states should take international principles, guidelines, and criteria into account when developing these measures. In addition, the Agreement outlines, among other things, requirements related to transparency, cybersecurity, and cross-border e-commerce.
