Ecuador: Draft law on protection of personal data receives no objection from President

The National Assembly of the Republic of Ecuador announced, on 22 May 2021, that the draft Organic Law on the Protection of Personal Data has received no objections from the President of the Republic, Lenín Moreno Garcés, and will be promulgated and published in the Official Registry, thereby becoming law. In particular, President Garcés also instructed the Director of Official Registry, Hugo del Pozo Barrezueta, to immediately publish the draft law.

You can read the press release here and the draft law here, both only available in Spanish.
