India: Telecommunications Bill 2023 passes Lower House
On December 20, 2023, the Telecommunications Bill 2023 was passed by the Lower House of the Indian Parliament (Lok Sabha). The Telecommunications Bill aims to amend and consolidate the law relating to the development, expansion, and operation of telecommunication services and telecommunication networks, assignment of spectrum, and connected matters.
If the Telecommunications Bill is passed by the Upper House of the Indian Parliament (Rajya Sabha), it will be sent to the President of India for assent to become law.
