International: Andorra ratifies CoE treaties on counter-terrorism and personal data protection

The Council of Europe ('CoE') announced, on 18 October 2022, that, on the same date, Andorra had ratified the European Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism and its amending protocol, the additional Protocol to the Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism, and the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with Regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data ('Convention 108+'). In particular, the CoE outlined that the Permanent Representative of Andorra to the CoE had transmitted its ratification instrument to the Deputy Secretary General, Bjørn Berge. Lastly, the CoE recalled that the additional protocol to Convention 108+ provides a flexible multilateral legal framework to facilitate the flow of data across borders while providing effective safeguards when personal data are being used.
