Luxembourg: CNPD calls for feedback on AI and personal data protection
On January 15, 2024, the National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD) announced that it is seeking feedback from Luxembourg entities on the development and use of artificial intelligence (AI) based tools in the public and private sectors. The CNPD stated that it aims to facilitate the development and use of AI as it relates to the protection of privacy and personal data, while also addressing the challenges encountered by stakeholders. Specifically, the CNPD stated that it seeks to understand the difficulties faced by entities when developing or integrating AI into their operations and products. The CNPD highlighted that feedback will allow for appropriate guidance and tools to be put in place and also allow it to provide the necessary support to entities.
The CNPD mentioned that feedback may address difficulties or solutions related to data protection and AI to include, for example:
areas of application, development, and the use of AI;
technical difficulties;
regulatory difficulties; or
organizational and human difficulties.
The CNPD stated that submissions will be treated as confidential and will be used to organize and contribute to workshops, training, and practical sheets, among other things.
Feedback can be sent to [email protected].
