Moldova: NCPDP publishes newsletter on its activity for the first quarter of 2024

On April 23, 2024, the National Center for the Protection of Personal Data (NCPDP) published its newsletter No. 17 highlighting its activities in the first quarter of 2024. Among other things, the newsletter outlines the NCPDP's training efforts, investigations, and enforcement actions during the reference period.

The NCPDP stated that it continued to provide data protection training sessions tailored to various groups, including police officers, students, and civil servants. In this regard, the NCPDP trained representatives from various institutions on the legal bases for data processing, data subject rights, and the process of conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA).

Regarding investigations, the NCPDP noted that it had conducted 87 verifications on conformity with personal data processing operations, issuing 96 decisions of which violations of the legal provisions were found in 34 cases and 38 cases were submitted to court for settlement.
