Monaco: CCIN publishes deliberation authorising transfer of cookies to Google
The Monegasque data protection authority ('CCIN') published, on 20 November 2019, a deliberation ('the Deliberation') authorising the transfer of information by TECHNI-PHARMA to Google Inc. for statistical analysis as part of Google Analytics. In particular, the Deliberation indicates that the information concerns all those visiting the TECHNI-PHARMA website and includes the contents of cookies from Google Analytics such as IP addresses, pages visited, time spent on each page, and the number of clicks. Furthermore, the Deliberation outlines that the CCIN considers the data collected to be sufficient and not excessive for the purposes of their collection.
In addition, the Deliberation notes that the data controller indicated the data retention period was 14 months, however the CCIN decided to fix the retention period to 13 months under the Deliberation No. 2019-083 of 15 May 2019 on recommendations for the deposit and shelf-life of cookies and other tracers. Finally, the Deliberation concludes that the cookie banner must inform users of the transfer of their data to the US and that in the event that a user opposes to the collection of their data, a message must inform the user that their request has been noted.
You can read the Deliberation, only available in French, here.
