The Monegasque data protection authority ('CCIN') published, on 20 November 2019, an opinion ('the Opinion') on the government's plan to set up an eHealth portal which will be operated by the Department of Social Affairs and of Health, and act as a digital portfolio of services for patients and health professionals in Monaco. In particular, the CCIN highlighted that the data subjects will be health professionals authorised to practice in Monaco, patients of healthcare professionals using the portal, patients using the portal, medical inspectors from the Health Action Department, system administrators and site visitors. Moreover, the CCIN noted the functionalities of the portal and that the purpose of the processing is specified and explicit, in accordance with the provisions of Article 10 of Law No. 1.165 of 23 December 1993. Furthermore, the CCIN outlined the personal data to be processed, the data retention period and the rights of the data subjects.
