New South Wales: NSW Health confirms health-related personal information included in Accellion cyber-attack

New South Wales ('NSW') Ministry of Health announced, on 4 June 2021, that it is notifying individuals whose data may have been accessed in the global Accellion File Transfer Appliance cyber-attack. In particular, NSW Health outlined that different types of information, including identity information and in some cases, health-related personal information, were included in the attack. However, NSW Health noted that medical records in public hospitals were not affected and that the software involved is no longer in use by NSW Health. Furthermore, NSW Heath stated that it has been working with the NSW Police and Cyber Security NSW to ensure that information has not been misused.
