Saudi Arabia: SDAIA announces Center of Excellence for AI in Industry and Mining
On February 13, 2024, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources and the President of the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) launched the Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in Industry and Mining, which aims to support the achievement of the Kingdom's strategic goals in the industrial sector through data and artificial intelligence (AI).
In particular, SDAIA highlighted that the center of excellence targets the industry and mining system and experts in the field with the aim of:
supporting the adoption of AI technologies in the industrial system;
building national capabilities and competencies specialized in data and AI in the industrial sector, and
supporting the efforts made to include the Kingdom in international indicators for data and AI.
