Shanxi: Judicial Administration requests public comments on draft Shanxi Province Social Credit Regulations

Credit China announced, on 12 July 2021, that the Shanxi Judicial Administration had released its Shanxi Province Social Credit Regulations (Draft for Solicitation of Comments) and is requesting public comments on the same. In particular, the draft regulation states that national agencies and organisations authorised by law and/or regulation to manage public affairs, and credit service agencies, among others, must strengthen the security protection of social credit information, as well as establish and improve the use of inquiry, objection handling, credit restoration, and security management including emergency response, complaints and reports, accountability, and other systems to protect the legitimate rights and interests of credit subjects.

More specifically, the draft regulation provides credit subject with rights including the right to know the collection and use of their social credit information, as well as the information sources and reasons for changes stated in their credit reports, and a right to object when the credit subject believes that its social credit information has errors, omissions, or infringements of its legal rights and interests.

Public comments can be submitted via email to [email protected] until 10 August 2021.

You can read the draft regulation, only available in Chinese, here.
