Tunisia: INPDP publishes draft data protection bill

DataGuidance confirmed, on 2 January 2018, with Imen Enneifar, Senior Associate at Eversheds Sutherland El Heni, that the Tunisian data protection authority ('INPDP') had published a draft bill on the protection of personal data ('the Draft'). The Draft aims to bring the Tunisian data protection framework into line with the the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) ('GDPR') by repealing the current data protection law, Organic Law number 63 dated 27 July 2004 on the Protection of Personal Data, and introducing provisions on data protection officer appointment, data portability and data breach notification requirements.

You can read the Draft, only available in French and Arabic, here.
