Uganda: AML bill published in Uganda Gazette
The Anti-Money Laundering (Amendment) Bill, 2019 was published, on 22 March 2019, in the Uganda Gazette ('the Bill'). In particular, the Bill seeks to repeal Section 38(1)(b) of the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2013 regarding the disclosure and use of information for anti-money laundering ('AML') purposes, where the Government of Uganda has a treaty, agreement or arrangement with a foreign state or international organisation regarding the exchange of such information.
