USA: Adaptive Health Integrations notifies OCR of data security incident

Adaptive Health Integrations notified, on 11 April 2022, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services ('HHS') Office for Civil Rights ('OCR') of a data security incident affecting  510,574 individuals. In particular, Adaptive Health Integrations explained that they discovered, on 17 October 2021, an unauthorised access to a limited amount of data stored on their systems. Upon learning of the incident, Adaptive Health Integrations contained the threat by disabling unauthorised access to their network and commenced a prompt and thorough investigation with assistance from external cybersecurity professionals. Furthermore, Adaptive Health Integrations determined that certain potentially accessed data contained personal information such as names, dates of birth, contact information, and social security numbers.
