The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection ('Poverenik') announced, on 13 February 2023, that it had received, on 1 February 2023, a written decision from the members of PAR Technology Corporation, ParTech Inc, Punchh Inc, AccSys LLC, and PAR Payment Services LLC ('the PAR Group'). In particular, Poverenik noted that, as the PAR Group is based in the US, these companies must designate its representative for the Republic of Serbia in accordance with the Law on Personal Data Protection 2018 (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, No. 87/2018). Furthermore, the Poverenik clarified that the representative of these companies for the Republic of Serbia is the Stanković & Partners.

According to the law, the Poverenik highlighted that itself or another person may address this representative regarding issues related to the processing of personal data, in order to ensure compliance with the provisions of the law. In addition, the Poverenik noted that other foreign companies with the obligation to designate their representative in Serbia should fulfil the same obligation and show awareness of the need to respect the rule of law and privacy of their users.
