International: FATF and ESAAMLG issue compliance report on Zimbabwe's AML/CFT regime

The Financial Action Task Force ('FATF') along with the Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group ('ESAAMLG') issued, on 5 November 2019, their Technical Compliance Re-Rating Follow Up Report ('the Report') on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing ('AML/CFT') measures for Zimbabwe. In particular, the Report highlights that Zimbabwe has made progress in addressing some of the technical compliance deficiencies that were previously identified in its initial mutual evaluation report. In addition, the Report notes that Zimbabwe has fully addressed deficiencies in relation to four Recommendations made in its initial evaluation report, and has become compliant in these areas, which include customer due diligence, wire transfers, and statistics.
