International: Serbia and Bosnia & Herzegovina sign cooperation agreement on data protection

On November 23, 2023, the Serbian Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection (the Poverenik) and the Agency for Personal Data Protection in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AZLP) signed a cooperation agreement on the legal protection of personal data.

What are the goals of the agreement?

The Agreement serves as a commitment to contribute to improving the work of the Poverenik and the AZLP regarding personal data protection of the citizens within their respective countries. The Agreement includes, among other things:

  • exchanging information and experiences related to personal data protection issues;
  • organizing and implementing joint conferences, expert gatherings, meetings, and training;
  • organizing study visits between both agencies for familiarization with procedures related to law enforcement practices regarding personal data protection; and
  • jointly solving problems.
