Poland: Ministry of Digitization announces public pre-consultation for the implementation of the Data Act

On April 4, 2024, the Ministry of Digitization announced that it had started work on the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2023/2854 of December 13, 2023, on harmonized rules on fair access to and use of data (Data Act) into Polish law.

In particular, the Ministry noted that the Data Act, which entered into force on January 11, 2024, and will apply from September 12, 2025, seeks to ensure fair access to and use of data between individual market participants in the digital economy, stimulate competition in the data market, and increase data availability.

Furthermore, the Ministry invited the public to participate in this pre-consultation by sharing its views on the questions enumerated in the press release. The Ministry noted that these can be sent via email to [email protected] until April 30, 2024.

You can read the press release here and download additional materials here, both only available in Polish.
